A name is a name, what would you rather they be known as? It is just for identification purposes, so I do not see what bothers you.

You won’t see the DNR doing that any time soon…..they realize that the animals aren’t domesticate and shouldn’t be treated that way.
i also find it annoying but can not put my finger on why. just seems wrong. like they are tying to not make them seem like ‘wild’ animals.
I also dont like it when they refere to an animal as a monster or a killer. Its just doing what comes naturally.
It annoys me that people go out to study an animal in it’s natural home environment, then kill the animal because it attacked.
.
Human names are a lot easier to remember for reserach and identification purposes then “look there go a785g” which is why they do it. Doesn’t bug me at all.
YES! And I especially hate it when, on the wildlife documentaries, they anthropomorthize the animals they are filming. I like watching the documentaries to learn more about the animals and their environments, but I hate it when the voiceover says things like, “Francis is jealous of Martha because Sam is paying more attention to Martha than Francis! Poor, jealous Francis wants all of Sam’s attention herself, so she is going to kick Martha out of the burrow. And now whatever will poor Martha do?” or whatever. I mean, I think animals do have feelings, and probably very similar to humans, but to attribute all sorts of things like jealousy and greed, etc. – it turns the noble and pure struggle for survival among interesting creatures into a creepy, voyeuristic soap opera starring animals. Yuck.
